Custom Hearing Instruments

Custom hearing aids, are just that.  Each one is custom made from molds taken of their intended user's ears.  These molds, or impressions, as they are known in our industry are then forwarded to the chosen manufacture along with the patients hearing loss information and the expected level of circuitry.  The technicians at the laboratory then create the custom shell into which the electronic build is then inserted.  After quality control and ANSI testing, the instruments are programmed to the desired specifications and forwarded back us for fitting.

There are several sub categories of custom hearing aids as follows:  Full shell, the oldest and largest style that as it's name implies, takes up the entire bowl of the outer ear.  Half shells, you guessed, taking up the lower half of the bowl of the ear.  Canal aids, those smaller than a half shell, but still visible from the outside and often times having a volume control, or program button on it's face plate.  Completely in the Canal, are the elite and smallest our craft has to offer on a regular basis.  As their name implies, they fit totally within the ear canal, below the tragus and completely invisible to all but those who are looking for them.
